Data Privacy Specialist

Currently, we are looking for Data Privacy Specialist to join our Legal team and serve as a subject matter expert on data privacy matters, providing advice and support to internal stakeholders. In this role you will be responsible for Compliance with Data Protection Regulations, Mitigation of Data Breach Risks, Protection of Customer Trust, and Risk Management and Incident Response.
What will you do in this role:
- Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and audits to identify and address potential privacy risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and assess data handling practices, ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving privacy laws and regulations, and guide the organization on their implications.
- Respond to data subject requests and privacy-related inquiries promptly and accurately.
- Develop and deliver data privacy training programs to educate employees and promote a culture of privacy awareness.
- Work closely with the IT department to ensure appropriate technical measures are in place to protect data privacy and security.
- Monitor and investigate data privacy incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with external partners and regulatory bodies on data privacy matters.

- Strong analytical abilities to assess data privacy risks, interpret complex legal requirements, and develop effective compliance strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for developing policies, conducting training, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.
- The capability to identify and resolve complex data privacy issues, providing practical and compliant solutions.
- Meticulous attention to detail is necessary for conducting thorough data assessments, monitoring compliance, and documenting processes and incidents.
- Practical experience in data management, including understanding data flows, categorization, and secure handling practices.
- Experience in handling data breach incidents, including investigation, mitigation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity, particularly when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to manage projects effectively, ensuring that data privacy initiatives are implemented within scope, time, and budget.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to stay current with evolving data privacy trends, technologies, and best practices.
